What is the MELT Method?
The MELT Method is a simple, gentle self-help practice that reduces chronic pain.
Soft therapy balls are used to increase fluid flow through the hands and feet which work throughout the body’s whole fascial matrix, or connective tissue, reducing pain, stiffness, stress and tension.
The MELT Method soft foam roller is a gentle yet powerful tool designed for use on the whole body. It helps rehydrate the body’s fascia while also calming the nervous system, leaving you feeling more relaxed, balanced, and at ease in your movement.
MELT Method techniques are easy, yet effective and regular practice for just a few minutes each day can help you get out and stay out of pain.
Understanding fascia
Fascia is the body’s connective tissue, linking and supporting every muscle, bone, organ, nerve, and cell. It forms a vast, three-dimensional, fluid-based web that gives the body structure while allowing tissues to glide smoothly for freedom of movement. Made largely of collagen, fascia is around 70% water and plays a vital role in how flexible and comfortable our bodies feel.
Fascia is a living tissue that changes with age, injury, and daily life. Prolonged sitting, repetitive movement, or inflammation can compress the tissue, reduce hydration, and lead to stiffness or pain. The good news is that fascia is responsive — through regular movement, hydration, and gentle techniques such as myofascial release or self-help methods like MELT Method and Trigger Point Pilates, fascia can rehydrate, soften, and regain its ability to move freely.
My own experience with MELT
Living with chronic pain means I’m constantly listening to my body and searching for ways to move with more comfort and ease.
Working with my fascia through the MELT Method and Trigger Point Pilates has been truly transformative for me. I notice less stiffness, more freedom in my movement, and a deeper sense of connection to how my body really works.
What continues to amaze me is how releasing tension in one area can bring relief somewhere completely different — easing a painful shoulder by gently working the hands can feel almost magical.
These experiences have shaped the way I move, teach, and support others, and they’re a big part of why I’m so passionate about sharing this work.
